President's Message . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Sherry Caravano (973) 426-9092

Welcome back to a new school year.  We would like to welcome our new and returning students, parents and staff. The Stanhope H.S.A. would like to welcome our new teachers, Mr. Eldred, Mrs. Swart, Mrs. Winsor, and our new Technology Coordinator, Mr. Traina to Stanhope School.  We would also like to wish Ms. Pipher and Mr. Kleczka best of luck in their new positions.

Congratulations to this year’s winners of the H.S.A. Open House Attendance Awards.  First place went to Mrs. Henry and her second grade class.  Second place was a three way tie.  The winners were Mrs. Curran and her kindergarten class, Mrs. Forest and her third grade class and Mrs. Jaust and her second grade class.

We have some new events planned, one being the Walkathon which just took place.  To all the parents and students who participated in the Walkathon, your efforts helped to make this event such a great success.  We thank you for your continued support.  Please remember that the pledge bills are in the process of being mailed.  Please remind your child’s sponsors to send in their pledge payments immediately.  The payment needs to arrive before the due date.  Please remember that each prompt payment will increase the monies raised for our school by not having to send out another costly billing. Thanks for your cooperation.  I would like to thank the following parents and grandparents who took time out of their busy schedules to volunteer on the day of the Walkathon:

Jill Anderson, Cathy Cetrulo, Steve Choppy, Sherrin Claesson, Derek Gordon, Dawn Goula, Cindy Graeber, Kara Guisewhite, Renee Harin,  Dawn Heinen, Dawn Lamicella, Michelle McNeilly, Carolyn Mulreed, Renee Petersen, Mr. Petersen, Melissa Slahor, Tami Stricchiola, Kelly Swiencki, Gina Thomas, John Thomas and Vicki Tramaglini.  Your time and support is greatly appreciated!!!

Another new event we have coming up is our Craft/Vendor Fair which will be held on December 1st, 2007 in conjunction with the Holiday Boutique and the 8th grade’s Breakfast with Santa.  So mark your calendar!

Please mark your calendars for our Tricky Tray on Saturday, March 29th, 2008.  This event helps raise money to support the students of Stanhope School.  We need everyone to please come to the meetings and volunteer to help with this event in any way you can.  If you would like more information, please call Sherry Caravano at (973)426-9092.

We have many events and activities planned.  You can stay informed by checking the school’s web site at www.stanhopeschools.org and then click on Home and School.

Have a great school year. Call me at anytime if you have any questions.  Please volunteer when you can. Please remember that when we all work together, our children are the winners.

Market Day . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  Robbin Kenny

Thanks go out to the families and faculty members who ordered in September.  I would also like to thank the volunteers who made reminder calls and who helped out the day of the sale.  For those of you who are not familiar with Market Day, it is a school food fundraiser in which our school earns at least 10% profit of all orders placed.  With the profit, we are able to purchase folders for Kindergarten and Student Homework Assignment Planners for the rest of the school.  Every month an order form is sent home. Order and pick-up dates are located on the back of the order form.  All products are covered by a 100% satisfaction guarantee.  Take a minute and look it over, there are many specials and new items.  If you would like to place an order, complete the form and send it back to school or you can order online at www.marketday.com. (There is a direct link from our section of the school web site.)  October order forms are due back by Friday, October 12th.  Pick-up is Thursday, October 18th between 4:00 – 5:00pm.

Welcome back to school. The Campbell’s Labels for Education program helps schools earn free merchandise in exchange for points that are collected from Campbell’s products.  Participating in this program is an easy way for families to help us reach our goals.  Simply save proofs of purchase from participating Campbell’s products and send them into school with your child.  You can help multiply our efforts by asking friends and family to collect proofs of purchase, or have them visit the Campbell’s website to make a “Community Pledge.”  This year should be better than ever with the new collection process that Campbell’s has unveiled.  There are now over 150 products eligible for points! For more details, and to view a list of eligible products, visit www.labelsforeducation.com.  Thank you so much for your support. Together with Campbell’s Label for Education – we can build a better school for our children.
