When I think back, I remember loving school, and that reading was always my most favorite subject. I spent my summers reading the books I checked out of my local public library. My mother claims that I always had my nose in a book! I realize that I have always wanted to be a teacher. When I was in elementary school, as soon as school was finished in June, I would invite my neighborhood friends and we would have school on my back porch. When I was in high school, on Saturday mornings I would round up the younger children in my neighborhood and bring them to my house for 2 hours of arts and crafts, story time, music and snack. Being with young children and observing first hand their curiosity and enthusiasm has always been rewarding to me. I attended Montclair State College. For many years I taught young children in preschools and day care centers.
I live here in Stanhope and our son David, attended this school. His father and I felt that he received a warm, nurturing and exemplary education at Stanhope School. We feel this was due to both the dedicated faculty and the small school setting. I feel very honored to serve the children of our town and strive to continue the tradition of excellence here at Stanhope Schools. This is my 14th year here in first grade! I look forward to working with you and your child, together we are going to learn so many new things this year!
