Mrs. Sara O'Neill, Fine Arts Teacher
I am a graduate of Kutztown State University, where I obtained my BFA in Communication Design. My passion for art began at a very young age, and I enjoy sparking the same interest in your children here at Stanhope School.
As a past co-chairperson of Youth Art Month for Sussex County, I was involved in displaying artwork from sending districts throughout our county, which has kept me up-to-date with what is being created in the local art programs. This event is held each year for the entire month of March at the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Gallery, 133 Spring Street in Newton. I encourage you to visit this gallery as well as other art galleries and museums to share a valuable artistic learning experience with your child(ren). Our art program at Valley Road School meets all of the state curriculum requirements, challenging both the elementary and middle school students, and preparing them for art at the high school level. Respect and tolerance are also taught through art history lessons and everyday art room experiences.
When I am not in school I can usually be found painting, working as a freelance muralist in both residential and commercial buildings thoroughout the area. I also operate a small baking business. I reside at home with my husband and 3 children as well as 3 horses and some feline friends.
