The elementary LLD program here at Valley Road school consists of students in grades K-2. The focus of the program is to build academic skills in alignment with CCCS. This is accomplished by the teacher making modifications and accommodations to the curriculum to meet specific goals and objectives for each student. Students are taught through individual as well as small group instruction and participate with mainstream peers as appropriate. The program also addresses communication skills by means of assistive technology and augmentative communication devices. Students build both functional daily living skills and social skills. Collaboration with related services (Speech, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy), provide application on a higher level of skills learned.
