    Dear Students and Families,
     
    My name is Ms.Karen Cihlar.
    It is a privilege and pleasure to be your child's returning teacher for the 2013-14 school year.
    I am happy to be sharing with you our returning team of  paraprofessionals:
    Mrs. Susan Polillo, Mrs. Amanda Duckworth and our newest member Miss.Justine Waldron.
    We all stand knowledgeable, dedicated to our learners and willing to grow.
     
    Please know our team continues to welcome and support active participation in your child's learning. Therefore, we encourage weekly parent visits, ongoing school home discussions and a comprehensive Child Study Team approach to include our Supervisor of Special Services Mrs. Felice Walker, our LDTC/NJ APA Coordinator Ms.Linda Mullin, our School Psychologist Mrs.Merrill Pfeiffer, and Ms. Shannon Walsh our Speech and Language Pathologist.
     
    In addition to  Ms. Jenna Mathesius our NJ ASK Coordinator, our Related Service providers Mrs.Amy Guenzel our Occupational Therapist, Ms.Janice Escobar our Physical Therapist and First and Foremost You and Your Child as active participants in the educational decision making process toward student achievement for your child.
     
    Our educational philosophy is one of Individualized Educational Planning, Implementing Positive Practices for the goal of making socially significant changes in the area of Academic, Social/Behavior growth.
     
    We look forward to continuing with our weekly parent visits according to your scheduling availability, monthly parent gatherings, and individual meetings as you desire.
     
    Our team professional goals of mutual respect for all learners and their individual learning style and needs according to their own individual educational programs while providing access to the general education curriculum in an approach individually suitable to our learners: Cognitive, Social and Behavior development. While creating a school and classroom that is safe for all learners to participate in and  who wholeheartedly are motivated to share enriching and rewarding meaningful experiences throughout the school year. Thus creating connections that promote and encourage shared growth toward home, school, community, college and career readiness.
